Biography

Dr Alissar Rady occupies the post of Policy and Health Systems Advisor, Team Lead at WHO Beirut . She provides strategic and technical support to the government with focus on Health systems Recovery Reform and Development. Dr Rady started her career as Family Physician graduated from AUB in 1993, with Masters in Basic Sciences and Masters in Public Health, along with 11 certificates for advanced training in health systems and health emergency. Dr Rady shifted to public health as medical officer in 1994 at WHO, before moving to work as international expert with several UN agencies, including, ILO, UNFPA, and UNICEF regional offices as well as the World Bank, and then back to WHO Lebanon since 2005. Between 2006 and 2025, Dr Rady has coordinated the health sector emergency response , bridging humanitarian support to system development to foster health system resilience. Dr Rady is solicited to teach public health courses in several universities in Lebanon, and has coordinated courses related to global health, social determinants of health, and health behavior. She also mentored masters and PHD students in Public health . Dr Rady has several publications in the area of public health, including peer reviewed articles, and has contributed to four national guidebooks development; she was awarded the Medal of Merit, Silver Palm rank from the Lebanese President of the Republic in 2022.
