ARSFC 2026 is the Advancing Research for a Sustainable Future Conference, an interdisciplinary conference organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research at Beirut Arab University. It brings together researchers, academics, policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and students to exchange knowledge and explore research-driven solutions for sustainability challenges.
ARSFC 2026 will take place on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
The conference will be held at Jamal Abed el Naser Hall, Beirut Arab University – Beirut Campus.
Registration begins at 8:30 AM. The official program starts at 9:00 AM and concludes at 5:00 PM.
ARSFC 2026 is intended for researchers, academics, policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, students, and guests interested in sustainability, research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The conference is organized around four main thematic areas: Sustainable Health; Financial and Social Sustainability; Innovation for a Sustainable and Digital Future; and Climate-Resilient Communities & Urban Futures.
The Opening Session runs from 9:00 to 9:30 AM under the theme “Research for a Sustainable Future.” It includes welcome and presidential addresses from representatives of Beirut Arab University, CNRS-Lebanon, the Hariri Foundation, and the Lebanese government.
Yes. The Keynote Address is scheduled from 9:30 to 10:00 AM under the title “From Global Goals to Local Impact: Research as a Driver of Sustainable Futures.”
The keynote speakers are Dr. Carla Khater, Director of Research at CNRS-Lebanon; Dr. Rubina Abou Zeinab, Executive Director of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development; and Dr. Alissar Rady, Policy and Health Systems Advisor and UHC/HP Team Lead at the WHO Country Office.
Session I: Sustainable Health runs from 10:30 to 11:30 AM and focuses on digital health, resilient healthcare systems, and innovation for wellbeing.
Session II: Financial and Social Sustainability runs from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and focuses on economic resilience, inclusive finance, social equity, and governance.
Session III: Innovation for a Sustainable and Digital Future runs from 1:30 to 2:30 PM and explores AI, digital transformation, smart systems, and future technologies.
Session IV: Climate-Resilient Communities & Urban Futures runs from 2:30 to 3:30 PM and focuses on climate adaptation, urban resilience, and sustainable cities.
Each of the four thematic sessions includes four presentations, with approximately 10 minutes allocated to each presentation.
Yes, participants may attend the sessions most relevant to their interests. However, if you would like to receive a conference certificate, please consider the attendance requirements described below.
Yes. A Coffee Break & Networking period is scheduled from 10:00 to 10:30 AM.
A Lunch Break in the Green Area is scheduled from 12:45 to 1:30 PM.
From 12:30 to 12:45 PM, the conference will host a Special Launch in the Green Area dedicated to the Youth Sustainability Club.
The launch will introduce the Club’s vision, mission, and objectives, highlight youth leadership in sustainability research and action, encourage student participation and collaboration, and include student and faculty presentations.
Yes. Networking is formally included during the 10:00–10:30 AM Coffee Break & Networking, while the Green Area activities and lunch also provide opportunities for participants from different sectors to connect.
Yes. A High-Level Panel Discussion entitled “Shaping a Sustainable Future: Challenges and Opportunities” will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 PM.
The panel will address research-driven sustainability; policy, finance and social impact; youth as agents of change; translating research into policy and practice; institutional responsibility; and opportunities for Lebanon within global sustainability frameworks.
The panel will be moderated by Prof. Hania Nakkash, Dean of Graduate Studies & Research at Beirut Arab University, and will include senior representatives from the Lebanese Ministries of Economy and Trade, Public Health, Agriculture, and Industry, as well as CNRS-Lebanon.
ARSFC 2026 is organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research at Beirut Arab University, in partnership with CNRS-Lebanon and the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development, with Enmaeya listed as media partner.
The conference concludes with Closing Remarks from 4:30 to 5:00 PM, covering key outcomes and recommendations, future research directions, and acknowledgements.

Yes. Participants may receive an official ARSFC 2026 certificate according to their attendance during the conference.
Participants attending at least two sessions are eligible for a Certificate of Attendance. Participants completing all four thematic sessions are eligible for a Certificate of Completion as well.
Parking arrangements follow Beirut Arab University – Beirut Campus access procedures. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow sufficient time for parking, campus access, and registration.
There is no specific dress code. However, smart casual or professional attire is recommended.
Selected conference materials or presentations may be made available after the event, subject to speaker approval. Any available materials will be communicated through official ARSFC 2026 channels.
Wi-Fi access is expected to be available at the Beirut Campus. Connection details, where applicable, can be provided to participants during the conference.
Yes. Colleagues and interested participants are welcome; however, each attendee should complete an individual registration to secure their place.
