Dean of Graduate Studies and Research | Beirut Arab University

Prof. Hania Nakkash is a distinguished academic and institutional leader with over 30 years of experience in higher education, research, and academic development. As Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at Beirut Arab University, she has been a driving force in advancing the University’s research ecosystem and positioning research as a catalyst for innovation, sustainability, and societal impact.

Under her leadership, the Deanship has spearheaded strategic initiatives in research excellence, innovation and technology transfer, intellectual property, sustainability, research capacity building, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while strengthening BAU’s national and international research partnerships and visibility.

Prof. Nakkash has advocated a forward-looking approach that bridges academia, innovation, industry, and society, enabling research to move beyond publication toward meaningful and sustainable impact. Her leadership has also contributed to research governance, strategic planning, institutional development, postgraduate education, and international collaboration.

She holds a PhD in Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of New South Wales, complemented by a strong record in postgraduate supervision, academic leadership, and higher education development.

Through her vision and leadership, Prof. Nakkash continues to strengthen BAU as an institution where research generates knowledge, innovation transforms it, and impact gives it purpose.
