Biography

Prof. Ghaleb Faour is Director of the National Center for Remote Sensing at the National Council for Scientific Research of Lebanon. He specializes in remote sensing, geographic information systems and Earth observation applications. His work focuses on environmental monitoring, land-use and land-cover mapping, agriculture, water resources, climate change and natural hazards. He has led and contributed to numerous national and international research projects and cooperation programmes promoting the use of satellite data for scientific research and evidence-based decision-making.
