Biography

Dr. Rouba Ziade is an Associate Researcher at the National Council for Scientific Research of Lebanon (CNRS-L), specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and disaster risk reduction. She holds a PhD in GIS and Remote Sensing from AgroParisTech, with research focusing on the interactions between natural hazards and environmental change.

Her work focuses on multi-hazard risk assessment, climate-related hazards, and the development of geospatial tools to support early warning, preparedness, and evidence-based decision-making. She contributes to Lebanon’s National Early Warning System and has worked extensively on wildfire, flood, heatwave, drought, and land degradation assessment, integrating satellite Earth observation, GIS, modelling, and emerging technologies into operational risk-management applications.
